So, here I am...blogging. We’ve lived in Germany seven months and I’m just now sitting down to write my first post. A lot has happened in those seven months...living in a hotel, moving into our home, having a baby, both sets of family visiting, Christmas. I had planned all along to blog through all of those events, but when all you get is a few hours a day to get things done, the last thing I want to use naptime for is writing, honestly. But here I am on another amazing trip and I’ve received countless comments and questions on my Instagram posts about whether I have a blog and can I share travel tips, that it’s made me reconsider. My career for the last 13 years as a Conmunications consultant probably requires this of me. But the real reason is that now that we are here and relatively still new in our assignment here in Germany, I really want to capture all these opportunities and memories we’ll have over the next two and a half years so I can share them with Owen one day. He’s only five months old and this week, will be visiting his fourth country! Life is moving so fast that sometimes I feel like I’m missing his days of being little and he’s with me 24/7. I want to remember these moments with him so I can tell him one day. I keep thinking by the time we move back to the U.S., how many places will we have visited? How many adventures will we have had? So yes, I officially started a blog. It probably will revolve mostly around traveling, but there will be a lot of Owen. And for my Communication colleagues, y’all know I’m not an editor so apologies in advance for any grammar mistakes or punctuation errors. (Rachael, maybe I’ll just send you my posts in advance for review Haha!) I plan on starting with where we are now and then adding in past trips later. However, here’s my disclaimer right now about my commitment level. I have no idea how often I’m going to get a post in. This could very well be my only one hahaha....
So if you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope to not disappoint and that I can share a bit of our world (and THE world) with you.
